MEET THE TEAM

DAVID J WHYTE

David J Whyte is one of Scotland’s most published golf travel writers & photographers. Since the early 1990’s he has worked with golf magazines around the world and remains a regular editorial/photographic contributor to many key publications. David is also VisitScotland’s main golf landscape photographer providing images for the annual Official Guide to Golf in Scotland along with www.golf/visitscotland.org. His photography is a key feature in leading golf magazines such as Golf (USA), Links (USA), Golf Vacations (Asia), The Golfer (Australia & New Zealand) , Today’s Golfer (UK), Bunkered (UK) and many other titles.

David has written several golf guidebooks such as Globetrotter’s Golfers Guide to Scotland and Globetrotter’s Golfers Guide to Spain along with Golf Monthly’s Scottish Golfing Gems. He also produced all content for Landmark Visitor Guide to Scotland, a general tourism guidebook. David’s photographic work has appeared in books such as Golf Magazine’s (USA) The World’s 500 Greatest Golf Holes, Gary Player’s Top Golf Courses of the World and many more. David is a member of the International Golf Travel Writers Association and The A Position, a prestigious group of mainly North American-based golf writers.

CLIVE AGRAN

Clive ‘Silky Swing’ Agran rather immodestly describes himself as ‘the most gifted golf writer either side of the Urals’. Formerly an editor of industrial publications, his sports writing career began in 1989 when he joined Eurosport. After Eurosport moved to Paris, he joined Screensport and produced a programme called ‘The Golf Report’. He eventually quit tv to return to writing. His immensely popular ‘Single Figures or Bust’ series in Golf Monthly both reduced his handicap and raised his profile.

Said to have more columns than the Parthenon, his whimsical musings and sparkling travel features can be read in a number of publications including Golf International, Golf Monthly, Golf World, Today’s Golfer and Golf News. Apart from winning a major, one of his few remaining ambitions is to write for ‘VW Golf’ magazine, “Just to complete the set.”
