Fontana Golf Club

Next up was Fontana Golf & Country Club, the No. 2 rated course in the country.

I honestly didn't realise we'd be playing this standard of golf course in Austria.

Fabulous Fontana is defined by its testing par 3s and immaculate presentation.

On the edge of the spa town of Baden and again only a short drive south of the city of Vienna, the course opened in 1996 and they tell me it has seen some significant development since.

Austrian-Canadian owner, Frank Stronach made billions with the largest automotive parts plant in Canada and is clearly passionate about his Austrian roots. A huge lake divides a palatial, Florida-style clubhouse from Stronach’s equally impressive mansion.

A spectacular finish at Fontana Golf Club, one of the most outstanding courses in Austria!

The clubhouse is palatial.

The experience on and off the golf course here at Fontana is exceptional… world-class!

I never imagined golf in Austria would be this good!
