Since its return to the Open Championship circuit, the Carnoustie Championship Course has re-established itself as perhaps the greatest test of golf in the world. That's a fairly lofty position to attain but few tour players would argue especially recalling the 1999 event. With wind, rain and wild rough in ascendance, this supreme Scottish links course rose to full tournament stature and quite frankly frightened a lot of the more pampered players back to the clubhouse.
